Description of primary duties and responsibilities:

This internship will require that the intern work a minimum of 40 hours per week (or according to employer work load/requirements) for 8 weeks during the summer. The assignment may include one or more of the following duties and/or responsibilities:

-administrative/clerical
-on-the-job training
-project management
-data base management
-budget assistance

*Specific duties/responsibilities will be determined by the employing work site

Description of Work Continued:

This position also comes with a $1,200 student housing stipend

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Students must:

*Be a U.S. Citizen
*Be a full-time student in good standing academically and behaviorally with the university
*Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 or better
*Be a rising junior or rising senior prior to the commencement of the internship. No graduate students or recent graduates can participate
*Be active in student and national organizations
*Have the ability to speak and write well
*Have familiarity with common software platforms, including but not limited to Windows, Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Access, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat
*Complete an Internship Orientation with Career Services prior to starting the internship
*Complete the Student Learning Contract with the Office of Career Services Internship Coordinator
*Work a minimum of 40 hours per week or according to employer work load/requirements for 8 weeks during the summer

*Demonstrate a commitment to the community and giving back
*Have sufficient background and maturity to learn from this experience
*Be well organized, take direction well, and be a self-starter willing to seek assignments and guidance
*Seek continuous learning and improvement through feedback and other means
*Be open to change and to considerable variety in the workplace
*Have high level of both written and oral communication skills
*Be able to analyze problems and arrive at a proper solution
*Be proficient or have a strong working knowledge navigating Microsoft Office Suite, internet browsers, keyboarding skills, etc.
