We have an opening for undergraduate level student or a recent bachelors graduate within one year the opportunity to engage in practical experience to further their educational goals. The internship is geared to provide you with valuable employment experience while performing important real-world work assignments. You will be assigned a job mentor to shadow during their assignment and will perform job tasks along with special projects within the Defense Technologies and Engineering Division (DTED).

Essential Duties
At the Undergraduate and Recent Grad Level(Non-Exempt):
- Work alongside the DTED Hiring Team to provide support to new employees and facilitate onboarding process development.
- Identify and drive efficiency in onboarding processes by making recommendations, developing process improvement strategies, and documenting results.
- Execute comprehensive communication strategy to strengthen new hire adjustment and
engagement.
- Design written and multimedia publications ensuring language, style, and messaging are consistent with the division quality and branding.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and implement solutions to cross-departmental onboarding needs.
- Assist administrative staff with various projects and activities.
- Develop, design, and build division webpages.
- One seminar may be presented on the assignment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
At the Undergraduate and Recent Grad Level(Non-Exempt):
- Must be a continuing college or university student in good standing at an accredited institution pursuing an undergraduate degree, graduate degree, or is a recent graduate within one year in Marketing, Communications, English, Graphic Design, or related field.
- Ability to apply basic administrative experience to understand related problems.
- Experience working with personal computers and familiarity with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to demonstrate effective communication skills and work in a team.
- Experience providing administrative support in a fast-paced environment.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with website design and development.
- Experience writing and editing across various communication channels.
- Experience building marketing campaigns or program development strategies.
Pre-Placement Medical Exam: A job related pre-placement medical examination may be required.
Pre-Employment Drug Test: External applicant(s) selected for this position will be required to pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug test.

Note: This is a Temporary Student Intern appointment. This assignment is for a full-time position during the summer academic break. Refer to the Scholar Program website at for additional student employment information.
