ABB is seeking an Intern to contribute to an Agile scrum team primarily responsible for the product development of ABB Enterprise Software Energy Portfolio Management (EPM) software solutions. These EPM solutions incorporate optimization algorithms utilizing linear, mixed-integer, and other mathematical programming techniques to simulate electric and natural gas transmission and distribution networks.
Typical duties/responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
* Writing unit test.
* Conduct testing.
* Develop automated UI test.
* Help fixing minor defects associated with our large-scale energy analytics based software products.
* The successful candidate will have excellent programming, analytical and communication skills.
* The Intern reports to the Development Manager and works closely with the QA and development teams.
Basic qualifications:
* Currently enrolled and seeking a degree at an accredited US based Institution.
Preferred qualifications:
* Pursuing degree in Computer Science.
* Experience with SQLServer and/or Oracle data base.
* Experience with WPF based Windows based application software development.
* Experience in application development using C#, Java, C++ or Python.
* Experience with OOD and knowledge of software design patterns, principles, and standards.
* Experience on application profiling tools such as Ants Profiler, dotTrace or SQL Trace.
* Experience working with large scale application software development.
* Local Candidates Preferred.
* Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
