Job Description

SEG's Summer Engineering Internship Program offers students the opportunity to apply engineering skills in a dynamic and real-world environment. We are currently seeking interns for Missile and Systems Engineering Branch.

Internship opening: SEG's Signature Branch

Responsibilities will include:

  • Developing state-of-the-art RF, IR, and laser signature models
  • Understanding and applying math and physics principles
  • Generating and evaluating threat data using various prediction tools
  • Developing state-of-the-art IR and laser tool sets to supplement signature model development
  • Performing analysis in support of missile defense activities
  • Documenting and presenting work to internal and external customers
  • Analyzing and understanding signature prediction tools


Required Skills

Minimum skills needed:

  • All candidates must be currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program at an accredited college or university having completed their sophomore year.
  • Candidates must have strong verbal and written communication skills and must be maintaining a 3.2 grade point average or higher.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance
  • Ability to code well in Strong background in electromagnetics, IR, or laser signatures
  • Familiarity with MATLAB
  • Ability to work in small teams or groups
  • Ability to work independently with help as needed
