This internship will be part of the MBCI Design Studio and involves contributing both as an individual and as part of a team. The position will be responsible for rendering front end product design support including problem definition brainstorming visualization and data collection on cabinet usage function and industry relationships i.e appliances faucets etc. The applicant should be able to utilize AutoDesk Design Suite (3DS Max Showcase and AutoCad) and/ or VRED. Good organizational and conceptual thinking skills are critical to a successful internship. Some travel may be required.

Industrial Design

• Provide design assistance to the Product Design Team on entry-level projects like dimensional and detail product drawings concept renderings product concept development design research etc.
• Will need to apply critical thinking and problem solving as related to the design process and provide professional presentation of concepts demonstrating an understanding of cabinet construction and materials.
• Must have experience in Autodesk Suite of software (Autocad/Showcase/ Alias/ 3DS Max) VRED and Photoshop.
• Perform all other duties as may be assigned at manqagement's discretion.

Learning Objectives:

Learning Tasks:

Intern will be challenged with their own cabinet specific improvement projects. Will be mentored on how to accomplish and execute research brainstorming and presentation of their ideas and solutions.

Will be responsible for product validation renderings and presentation rendering for customers.

Will assist in the execution of a collection of forward thinking product development solutions to help fill the "idea bucket" and the presentation of these designs in the Product Presentation Suite.

Resources:

The Design Studio materials library AutoDesk Design Suite and Photoshop software will be available for internship use. The individual will also have access to build relationships cross functionally between the Product Management and Product Engineering staff. The intern will also gain insight into industry partnerships by being part of vendor meetings where they will gain knowledge of new materials and trends.

Timelines:

Cabinet industrial design projects will circulate throughout the summer as completed. Innovation project timelines will vary depending on the length and scope of each project.

The intern will meet weekly with Manager.
