Social Media is included in the Marketing Department at Fox Sports Detroit. While the focus is on creating content for social media, integrating it into broadcasts and supporting our partnerships with the teams, it has multiple functions within the organization including: creating and managing partnership agreements within the collegiate and professional sports realm, designing and executing promotions with the Ad Sales department, planning and implementing annual station promotions and overseeing the overall branding and image of the station.

Current projects and tasks that will be assigned to the intern:

The intern will work on creating content for social media for FOX Sports Detroit, integrating social media into game broadcasts and researching strategic digital opportunities.

Learning Objectives:

Gain the basic understanding of the functions of integrating Social Media into the broadcast and the functions of the Marketing department as a whole. Learn the ad sales process as it relates to executing promotions.

• Be a sophomore (second year college student) or above. Recent graduates are not eligible for this program.
• All students must provide their own housing and transportation for the duration of the internship.
• Be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship by the Company.
• Previous work experience in an office environment preferred.
• Previous internship experience preferred.
• Great organizational and communication skills
• Television production courses preferred
• Computer proficiency and sports knowledge a plus
• Must have a positive attitude, be eager to learn and hard working
• Exhibit professional appearance, communication and composure when representing Fox Sports Detroit
• Experience in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and design software such as Photoshop/Adobe
• Some graphics/design experience a plus
• Experience with Social Media (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) a must
• Ability to be flexible on work hours...will be required to work some off-site/off-hour events

• Applicants must be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited university and be sophomore status or above
• Be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship by the Company.
