Job Description

HP IT is seeking a Communications Intern to assist with local site events, internal communications, executive presentations and overall employee engagement! HP IT is a fast-moving, exciting organization, and this position will help increase internal and employee engagement. The ideal candidate will apply communication knowledge to assist with organization-wide and executive communications. Preference will be given to candidates with the ability to think creatively and independently!

Responsibilities:

  • Help lead local employee social committee in Austin office to execute local employee engagement strategy, including social, philanthropic, and educational events
  • Serve as communication and branding expert, writing and developing executive presentations for senior staff members to deliver to top customers and HP leadership
  • Coordinate deliverables utilizing pre-structured communication plans for HP IT programs and projects
  • Use superior communications skills (design, writing and editing) in developing HP IT communications
  • Write scripts and direct videos to showcase HP IT wins to the larger organization
  • Conduct surveys and other post-op analysis on communications team initiatives
  • Drive a new employee onboarding program and help new employees to HP IT get up and running

Knowledge and skills:

  • Superior PowerPoint design and writing skills, examples of previous presentations a plus
  • Superior English writing and editing skills - recognized for "near perfection" writing and editing skills and often asked to edit the work of others
  • Superior organization skills
  • Ability to link communications plans and activities to business results
  • Superior knowledge and understanding of communications methodologies, tools and vehicles
  • Developed relationship management skills
  • Ability to participate on cross-functional teams
  • Superior writing, listening and interpersonal skills
  • Experience creating or editing SharePoint websites (HTML preferred)
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Intermediate knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Ability to collaborate with a highly creative and closely knit team on all projects
  • Experience organizing and executing large events within a limited budget

Education and Experience Required:
Enrolled in University.
