Project Name: Digital Health Operations Standardization project

Start date: November 2017

End date: January 2018

Description of internship project:

The Digital Health (DH) intern will work with the Director of Operations to create standardization manuals, tools, and best practice guides for the DH team.

Internship goals and learning objectives/benefit to the intern:

The intern will gain an understanding of how PATH works as an organization as well as knowledge of the Digital Health space. Assisting with development of a DH toolkit will also provide an opportunity to learn more about DH best practices and provide experience with project management and implementation.

Skills to be developed and/or expanded during internship:

Better understanding of how global organizations such as of PATH function. Understanding of the Digital Health landscape, implementation and project lifecycle development/implementation, tool and manual development.

Proposed activities:

  • Assistance with creating a Digital Health Operational Plan for the team
  • Help with the creation of standards, tools, process documents to support operationalization of projects into the larger portfolio
  • Aid the Director of Operations in analyzing and visualizing data points, which may include creating dashboards for data presentation, providing feedback on conceptualization of data, and analysis of raw data utilizing quantitative and qualitative data analysis measures

Learning outcomes (how the Intern's performance will be evaluated):

  • The intern and supervisor will meet regularly to discuss performance and progress on internship activities
  • Quality of materials produced for DH Data Visualization "dashboard"/presentation
  • Contribution to production and implementation of DH internal organizational standards and data presentation

Required skills and experience:

  • Current enrollment in a graduate or undergraduate level academic program
  • Interest in Public Health, ICT for development, and/or international development at large
  • Familiarity with data visualization concepts and/or systems preferred
  • Experience with the MS Office suite required
  • Ability to calendar and assist with meeting coordination
  • Sharepoint and Salesforce experience highly desirable

*PATH does not provide a stipend to interns who are California residents.

*All PATH internships are eligible for school credit. Please refer to your university's process for credit eligibility.

Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
