We are currently recruiting for a self starting, motivated Manufacturing Engineer Intern for the Summer 2018 season who is looking for hands-on practical experience. This is a support role primarily for manufacturing/industrial engineering, with continuous improvement exposure. You will interact with supervisors, project leaders, engineers, technicians, skilled trades, and cross functional project stakeholders on a daily basis.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

  1. Support manufacturing engineering staff by performing basic engineering assignments in the design and development of workstations, assembly aides and process flow.
  2. Observe and learn lean manufacturing principals to insure long term continuous improvement.

In this internship you will gain experience with:

  • Work station design, ergonomic, safety, and continuous improvement
  • Solidworks 3D modeling and drawing creation
  • AS400 database for bill of materials
  • Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint project planning tools

You will be exposed to:

  • Fabrication processes including welding, press brake, laser, punch press, machining centers, large presses, powder paint systems and more
  • Final assembly processes
  • Lean production process and manufacturing principles
  • Project management tools and methodologies
Job Requirements

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be enrolled as a student at an accredited university studying toward a Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering, Associates of Manufacturing Engineering/Technology, or similar
  • Must have completed the sophomore year (or equivalent for Associate program candidates) in the major program of study
  • Must have and maintain a minimum G.P.A. of 3.0/4.0
  • Students should be mechanically inclined and have an interest in fabrication and assembly in a fast pace manufacturing environment, outdoor power equipment, and continuous improvement

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Industrial, manufacturing, engineering, fabrication, and/or hands-on work experience
  • General understanding of ergonomics and safety loss control.
  • Solidworks experience
