Job Description:

Summary:

Throughout your 10 week internship, you will be an indispensable partner to the Performance Management team. You will review and analyze aggregate and event level data to identify patterns and trends while researching and preparing evidence-based recommendations in a targeted safety topic.

What we will do:

We will give you the tools and training necessary for you to succeed in our internship program while teaching you valuable skills that will transfer to your life outside of Vizient. An internship at Vizient means you will be working with one of the first 10 AHRQ-listed PSOs, which supports over 250 members in identifying patient safety risks and ways to prevent patient harm.

What you will do:

  • Analysis of PSO data for safety projects (e.g., critical laboratory tests, diagnostic error)

  • Research on various safety topics as part of 2018 program plan

  • Identification of evidence-based leading practices

  • Dissemination of findings via web conferences and written documents

What you will need:

  • Bachelor of Science or higher degree in nursing or pharmacy preferred, other allied health sciences.

  • Proficient skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Data analysis and researching evidence-based leading practices preferred

  • Strong interpersonal skills for interacting across the team and potentially with clients, members; strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Flexible, action oriented, adaptive, agile, resourceful, self-starter, team player

Key Program Information

The program requires a full ten week commitment by the intern to participate in all developmental experiences including formal training, mentoring, on-the-job learning, and opportunities to interact with senior leaders. The Intern group also organizes a summer community service project and has teambuilding activities outside of work.

  • Program starts June 4 and ends August 10
  • 40 hrs per week and pay is $24 per hour
