We have an excellent opportunity for a college or graduate school student studying Architectural Engineering with an emphasis on mechanical systems or Mechanical Engineering for a paid summer internship for the summer of 2018 in our Alexandria, VA office. The summer internship is approximately 10-12 weeks in length beginning mid-May through mid-August (depending on your schedule).

The summer internship offers exposure to a variety of engineering experiences and tasks including, but not limited to, facility heating / cooling / ventilation (HVAC) analysis and design, plumbing and piping design, the LEED certification process, sustainable buildings and systems, and energy conservation.

The position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, collaboration with other disciplines, awareness of budget commitments, independent work, and the ability to problem solve. Must meet expectations for attendance and punctuality.

• Knowledge of Revit preferred
• Knowledge of Trane Trace 700 preferred
• Must be pursuing an engineering degree in Architectural Engineering (with an emphasis on mechanical systems) or a degree in Mechanical Engineering from an A.B.E.T. accredited program
• Must be currently enrolled and entering junior year or higher of undergraduate degree or currently enrolled in grad school. Students graduating December 2018 / Summer 2019 will be considered.
• GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred
