DESCRIPTION
Amazon is looking for motivated and customer-focused user experience research interns to join our UX research teams. Chosen candidates will learn a great deal from an internship at Amazon and will gain hands-on experience in UX Research. During the course of the internship, UX research interns have experience with a variety of research methods such as usability studies (comparative, iterative, prototype, remote), card sorting, concept testing, cognitive walkthroughs, diary studies, field research and surveys. Amazon internships help students gain real-world experience, build contacts, and learn from some of the best researchers and designers in the industry. Depending on the intern's interests, there will also be opportunities to shadow employees in related departments such as UX Design, Prototyping and UI Writing.
The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of user research principles, with a passion for collecting customer feedback that informs design and business decisions. This position requires a high degree of self-motivation, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task. Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must.
Responsibilities include:
Assisting UX researchers in designing, conducting and analyzing results from a variety of research studies including usability lab studies, remote research, field studies and survey design.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* Currently enrolled in a relevant masters or PhD program and graduating between October 2018 and September 2019
* Have already taken a Usability Testing course and at least one Research Methods course.
* Proficient in MS Word and Excel
* Self-motivated and capable of working independently
* Must be available to work full time for 12 weeks over the summer


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with statistics, survey design or prototyping.
