Job Description

Operates as the primary business and financial analyst for projects within a program. Participates in the preparation, analysis, reconciliation, and forecasting of project-related business, accounting and financial data.

Operates as the performance data analyst for a program. Participates in the preparation, analysis, reconciliation and forecasting of project related operations data such as compliance, utilization rates, completion rates, response times, milestone completion rates and other performance metrics.

  • Coordinates preparation and analysis of internal and external reports through gathering, analyzing and summarizing data and information. This includes budget reports, forecasting reports, variance reports and other financial and management reports.
  • Prepares presentation materials for project and corporate management as required.
  • Evaluates and monitors the performance and efficiency of the program or project(s).
  • Monitors project/program revenue and expense transactions and reports, reviews for accuracy and completeness; investigates discrepancies.
  • Develops and maintains management of critical and key performance reports.
  • Works on overall project planning, schedules, and deliverables along with project team.
  • Works with project staff to prepare cost and revenue budgets.
  • Provides support to the project team by gathering and analyzing data in the establishment and/or maintenance of project business processes, procedures and policies.
  • Assists in the initiation, conducting, and coordinating of studies and analysis of resource allocation.
  • Responsible for coordination of transactional accounting activities with corporate office personnel.
  • Position operates within the project/program structure, and has dotted line reporting responsibility to corporate accounting.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

BS/BA degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting, with a minimum of 1 to 5 years of experience in a business or operations environment. An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Should be knowledgeable and experienced with software packages such as Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience with Great Plains Accounting, and SAP Ariba systems is a plus. Individual should be a self-starter and used to working in a fast-paced environment.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Communicates effectively in both oral and written English technical language, both in interpreting requirements and providing reports. Should possess good customer service abilities along with refined grammar skills. The position requires interaction with other departments and field employees and therefore the incumbent should possess excellent interpersonal skills.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. On occasion the ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to sit; use hand and fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The incumbent is occasionally required to stand for long periods of time. The incumbent may be required to lift and/or move up to 10 lbs. And occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office environment. There is low to moderate noise in this work environment.
