Career Opportunity:

As a color expert, this position provides support to all DS locations regarding processes related to color matching and sampling for many aspects of the business. In addition, this position is also a pivotal role in assisting the Product Stewardship team in meeting customer needs pertaining to global regulations for all regional locations.

How You Will Impact Silgan Dispensing Systems:

30%

Running reports for Product Stewardship dashboard. Organizes all information required to draft letters for customer requests on regulations, carbon foot printing, and environmental impacts. Must safeguard confidentiality.

North American regional expert on colorants, providing guidance, support, and assistance to anyone in the company as needed. (Examples include: color evaluations, color matching, reformulations, new projects, and sampling colorants)

Responsible for analyzing color visually with the MacBeth light booth and X-Rite color spectrophotometer.

Innovation, enhancement and maintenance - software, equipment and processes (including ISO9001) should be managed effectively. Understanding the business and who is impacted by practices. Functional understanding of product lines produced globally.

30%

To keep record-keeping current, documentation will be requested for regulatory compliance, MSDS, and Technical Data sheets, etc. for color pigments and resin. All documentation and record-keeping is supervised and kept on SharePoint and Regulatory drive. The Color Laboratory has files and range boards to be maintained or purged every 5 years if the color has not been ordered. These files are used as a record of the color in case there is ever a problem once the color goes into production or if a commercial group needs assistance with a customer.

Job Requirements

What You Need to Succeed:

  • Associate's degree (A.A.) preferred or equivalent job experience
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Writing comprehension
  • Competent with typical office programs (word, excel, email), internet browsers (internet explorer and chrome), and ERP software (PICK)
  • Ability to learn new software and programs
  • Color evaluation required
  • Time management
  • Self-motivated, self-managed, and creative
