Primary Responsibilities
HDR is looking for a SCADA/Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) Engineer to join our East Region Design Center in either Charlotte, NC or Greenville, SC. They will be expected to perform the design of complex control systems across a variety of markets including Water, Wastewater, and Industrial. The role will also include assessment of existing control systems and planning activities related to control systems. The position involves exercising judgment in evaluation and selection of equipment and system components, and coordinating closely with multidiscipline design teams through all stages of design including schematic, design development, and construction documents. They will be responsible for creating biddable and technically accurate construction documents including drawings and specifications, as well as reviews of documents for areas of conflict with all disciplines, and will also be involved in coordination during construction phases including the review of shop drawings and field inspections. They must be self-motivated with an initiative to deliver high quality, technically excellent SCADA/I&C designs.

Required Qualifications
BS in Electrical Engineering or Controls related field.
PE required
Minimum 4 to 9 years applicable experience
Hands on experience designing I&C systems, including schematics and loops required
Network design experience in Industrial or Water/Wastewater required
Must be knowledgeable of remote site telemetry communications
Must be knowledgeable of cybersecurity considerations in Industrial or Water/Wastewater
Must be knowledgeable of PLC hardware/software and SCADA/HMI software in Industrial or Water/Wastewater
Preferred Qualifications
PLC/WTP and WWTP PLC programming or SCADA configuration experience a plus
Local candidates are preferred
