Job Description

The successful candidate's primary role is to be responsible for maintaining the security systems deployed at various industrial and commercial sites. Primary tasks are service calls including but not limited to: hardware and software repair and maintenance of warranty and extended warranty projects. In addition, this position will assist in the installation and completion of electronic security projects for various customers. Candidate will understand the policies, procedures, standards, and the goals of the organization and will direct the execution of all aspects of service and installations with those in mind.

  • Self performs and manages all service calls of intrusion detection, access control, and video management and data communication systems. On-site work will include troubleshooting of head-end computer systems, field hardware, field devices and sensors, and communication infrastructure including fiber optic cables.
  • Completes detailed service status reports (hard and soft copies), and other documentation as required. Use of software reporting (Service Center) a must.
  • Organizes and coordinates service calls and preventive maintenance with clients to discuss service activities, changes, and developments with the customer and site personnel.
  • Provides warranty service, including replacement of defective material and repair of faulty workmanship within defined response times.
  • Provide maintenance service for the warranty period, including at least two semi-annual visits to sites for checking and adjustment of equipment, recording current conditions and restoring equipment to optimal conditions.
  • Answer service calls within defined response times.
  • Complete maintenance calls within defined response times (but no later than five days of notification).
  • Perform Software/firmware maintenance: apply new releases or updates of hardware, software, technical and alert bulletins released by the access control manufacturer to the system.
  • Survey sites for setting up a baseline status of equipment and materials and current condition with recommended actions to bringing system into service compliance.
  • Supervise and quality control check work performed by others including but not limited to technicians or engineers of G4s, subcontractors, and customer's own resources.
  • Participate in team meetings reviewing performance metrics and providing input for improving and evolving documentation, standards and procedures to deliver more efficient and effective installations, service and maintenance.
  • During downtime of service calls, candidate shall assist Project Managers and project specific Superintendents with installation projects.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Two years of field experience with low voltage systems or related field. Must have extensive knowledge of electronics, computer programming, as well as site service and installation experience. Employees should also be adept in the use of the following systems: Software House, Qognify (Nice) Systems and Genetec. Experience in AMAG, Lenel, Honeywell and Hirsch Electronics will be considered.

Successful candidates must be able to pass background checks, drug screening and possess a valid driver's license

This position involves working in the Energy market, supporting Critical Infrastructure projects. A successful candidate is recommended to have knowledge and experience in NERC/CIP compliance but not required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering and construction drawings and specifications, common scientific and technical journals, and other documents. Communicates effectively in both oral and written English technical language, both in interpreting requirements and providing reports.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to research and interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to sit; use hand and fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The incumbent is required to walk daily on construction sites in rough terrain, and climb ladders and facilities under construction. The incumbent is occasionally required to stand for long periods of time. The incumbent may be required to lift and/or move up to 10 lbs. And occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent regularly may split time between work in a semi-quiet office or campus environments and on construction sites, industrial yards, high voltage substations and other energy sites, where there is moderate to occasional great noise levels. Travel is required.
