Primary Responsibilities

HDR is looking for a Construction EIT to join our Transportation Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) team in Charleston, SC. They will individually and within a group of inspectors to verify construction activities on transportation projects to comply with plans and specifications. Good communication skills and problem resolution skills are a must as they will have daily interaction with the contractor. SCDOT certifications that will allow them to perform various material testing and sampling duties as needed (asphalt, concrete, and foundations) are desired. The Construction EIT must be well organized as they will need to generate and maintain project documentation such as letters, testing reports, and daily diaries.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications

BS degree in Engineering, Construction Science, Construction Management, or related discipline required.

EIT required.

Must have strong people skills, and the ability to interact with the construction team.
Preferred Qualifications

1-2 years of construction engineering or inspection experience on SCDOT projects highly preferred; however, entry-level new graduates will be considered.
Knowledge of scheduling software preferred (Primavera P6) desired.

Local candidates are preferred.
